Night of Relaxation February 23rd
On February 23rd 6:30pm Women in Business is hosting a night of relaxation. So often our business is just one of the balls we are juggling. We are moms, wives, daughters, sisters and just plain tired. On this night we will have a number of different stations set up to relax and pamper you and dinner will be served. Bring a fellow woman in business, a sister or a friend and spend a couple of hours unwinding and maybe even get a new look. While you are waiting for your massage, or checking out the new colors for summer eye shadow, there will be time to catch up with friends and make new. Learn about new businesses in the Highland White Lake area and what they can do for you. Reservations are coming in fast and space is limited and reservations are required. The event is at the Comeback Inn and costs $20.00. Call 248-889-1422 to RSVP so we can insure we have space for you.

Women’s Enrichment Day
The 7th Annual Women’s Enrichment Day is planned for Saturday, March 20, 2010. The purpose of Women’s Enrichment Day is to provide the women of our community an event full of information, entertainment & inspiration. The day starts with a continental breakfast and beverage. There will be four sessions of 10 workshops each session. Each workshop lasts 45 minutes which can be signed up for online or if there are openings, the day of the event.
The workshops in the past have included: Redesigning your Living Space, The Joy of Quilting, Watercolor demonstrations, Health Eating for Families, Pilates and there is so much more available. In addition, we have invited many local businesses to personally explain how their products can assist you, so many times we are unaware of small at home businesses that may be in our own backyard – the lady who makes slip covers or cornices, the interior decorator, or the painter who can faux paint your powder room to look like it came from Tuscany.
This event costs $5.00 per person and those monies are donated to The Huron Valley Educational Foundation which is a nonprofit foundation that helps educators in the Huron Valley School District bring unique opportunities to students. The Huron Valley Educational Foundation funds grants for educational field trips, fine arts, performing arts, multi-cultural events, robotics, technology and new learning experiences for our children.
So not only can women have a day with no children, breakfast provided (lunch can be purchased) but there are lots for fun activities to participate in and the registration monies go back to assist our community. Oh and did I mention the ULTIMATE MAKEOVER? One lucky lady will win a chance to transform her life with a 3 month makeover.
The event will again be held at Highland Middle School, 305 John Street, Highland, MI. This event is sponsored by Women in Business, a division of Highland Business Association. Vendors and workshop presenters can visit www.Enrichment-Day.com for registration information or contact the HBA office at 248-889-1422 or info@thehba.net.
Women In Business
Most women I know are multitaskers or maybe jugglers is a better term. They are rarely satisfied with the way things are; from the home to business to their world; they are always looking for ways to improve whatever they come in contact with. Because there are so many balls in the air for very long periods of time, women also need support to nurture them, their ideas, their dreams and give them a space to suspend all those balls in air for a few hours. Women in Business – Highland is a division of the Highland Business Association. It was designed to be a networking organization centered on the principles of sharing, learning, cooperation, encouragement, camaraderie and respect. I have found that being with these women has allowed me to grow professionally and personally. There is always lots of laughter when this group of women get together because we are able to share with others our successes and what happened when one of the balls we were juggling not only dropped from rotation but usually bounced out the door and down the street. If you are a woman in business, you too may realize a need to interact with other women just to revitalize your dream, assist in strengthening your stamina or just for a night when someone else makes and serves dinner. Whatever your reason I invite you to come check out one of our quarterly meetings, I know you will be glad you did.
